PSPCL Revokes Suspension of Chief Engineer Harish Sharma After Board Review

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) revoked the suspension of Harish Kumar Sharma, Chief Engineer at the Guru Gobind Singh Thermal Power Plant, Ropar, on March 16 following a board review. Sharma had been suspended in November 2025 over allegations of higher fuel costs at Ropar and Guru Amardas Thermal Power Plant, Goindwal Sahib, despite coal supplies from a captive mine. The suspension prompted protests and legal challenges. The board considered a committee report and Sharma's nearing retirement before revoking the suspension, while he remains suspended at Goindwal Sahib pending inquiry.
