International Experts Inspect Polavaram Project, Highlight Construction Concerns

A team of foreign experts from the US and Canada, along with Central Water Commission officials, conducted a multi-day inspection of the Polavaram irrigation project on the Godavari River. They reviewed key components including the earth-cum-rock-fill dam, soil stabilization at Gap-1, and construction materials. The experts raised concerns about dam alignment, compaction methods, and internal erosion risks, advising remedial measures and detailed data submissions to ensure structural integrity and timely completion.
