A joint security operation named 'Operation Trashi-I' has entered its third day in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, targeting 2-3 suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists hiding in dense forest terrain near Sonnar village. The encounter began on January 18, resulting in the death of Special Forces Havildar Gajendra Singh and injuries to eight soldiers, mostly from grenade splinters. Security forces have busted a well-stocked terrorist hideout and detained several locals for questioning while continuing the search amid challenging conditions.
