The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved extending free bus travel to transgender passengers on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses, following the existing scheme for women. This initiative aims to promote social inclusion and remove financial barriers for the transgender community. Meanwhile, the government will continue the current pink ticket system for women’s free travel for three months during the gradual rollout of the new Pink Saheli smart cards, with 50 centres set up for card issuance across the city.
