
An Interoceanic passenger train derailed in Oaxaca, Mexico, on Sunday, killing at least 13 people and injuring 98. The train was carrying approximately 250 passengers and crew when it went off the tracks near Nizanda. Of the injured, 36 required medical treatment, with five in critical condition. President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the casualties and dispatched senior officials to the site. Mexico's Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation into the cause of the derailment.
