India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced reforms to enhance telecom security and support domestic manufacturing. Key changes include extending the Pro Tem Security Certification Scheme for OEMs by two years and significantly reducing testing fees for laboratories. These measures aim to ease regulatory burdens, particularly for women-led and MSME testing labs, with reductions of up to 90%. The reforms are intended to boost 'Make in India' initiatives, accelerate innovation, and expand broadband penetration nationwide.
