Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has requested Rs 200 crore in central assistance to implement an Integrated Coconut Development and Market Strengthening Programme. The proposal aims to address low prices, pest issues, and inadequate infrastructure faced by the state's coconut farmers, who contribute significantly to national productivity. The programme seeks to modernize markets, establish processing units for value-added products, and improve farm-gate prices, potentially creating 15,000 rural jobs and boosting farmer incomes.
