
Counting of votes for Jharkhand's municipal elections held on February 23 is underway across 48 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), including nine municipal corporations, 20 municipal councils, and 19 nagar panchayats. Over 43 lakh voters participated, with turnout around 62-63 percent. The elections were conducted on a non-party basis using ballot papers without the NOTA option. Results for most ULBs are expected by Friday night, except Dhanbad where counting may extend to Saturday. Security arrangements are tight amid peaceful polling.
