The Allahabad High Court has ruled that a rent authority's jurisdiction to hear eviction cases is not barred by the absence of a written tenancy agreement or failure to provide tenancy particulars. The court stated that under the Uttar Pradesh Regulation of Urban Premises Tenancy Act, 2021, the rent authority can still entertain eviction applications in such circumstances.
