Defence Ministry Signs Rs 5,083 Crore Contracts for Helicopters and Naval Missiles

The Indian Ministry of Defence signed contracts worth Rs 5,083 crore for acquiring six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III (Maritime Role) for the Indian Coast Guard and Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch Shtil missiles for the Indian Navy. The Rs 2,901 crore helicopter deal with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited includes operational equipment and support, enhancing maritime security capabilities. The Rs 2,182 crore missile contract with Russia's JSC Rosoboronexport aims to strengthen naval air defence against aerial threats, reinforcing layered protection on frontline warships.
