Residents to Begin Indefinite Protest Against GVMC Garbage Dump in Gajuwaka

Residents from 16 localities near the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation's Garbage Transfer Station in Gajuwaka plan to launch an indefinite protest starting March 20 by locking the facility. They previously held relay hunger strikes in February, demanding the relocation of the dumping yard due to health concerns. Despite assurances from political leaders to address the issue, officials have begun road construction at the site, prompting residents to organize continuous sit-ins and community meals until the facility is moved.
