A recent RTI response from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) indicates stubble burning contributed only 3.5% to Delhi's PM2.5 levels in late 2025, a decrease from previous years. However, the CPCB relies on a 2018 report for source apportionment data and has not provided updated assessments. Environmental activist Amit Gupta noted aggressive enforcement against farmers for stubble burning, while major pollution sources within Delhi-NCR, such as garbage burning and construction dust, face weaker regulation and contribute significantly to overall pollution.
