
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Legislative Assembly that 2,261 suspected Bangladeshi nationals' documents were verified, with 2,184 confirmed as Indian citizens and released. Seventy-seven individuals were identified as Bangladeshi infiltrators; 73 have been deported. Cases involving forged Indian passports have been registered against some. Deportation proceedings continue for two others. The verification process follows Ministry of Home Affairs directives and has faced objections from West Bengal's government.
