Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Detained in Drug Raid; Parties Demand Action

Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Yadav was detained during a Telangana police raid on a Moinabad farmhouse, where preliminary tests indicated drug consumption. The YSR Congress Party and Congress have demanded his suspension, criticizing the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for allegedly shielding him. The Democratic Youth Federation of India called for cancellation of his parliamentary membership and strict punishment. The TDP, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, directed the MP to stay away from party activities and ordered an internal inquiry, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy on drugs.
