Karnataka's government has released Rs 300 crore as financial aid to sugarcane farmers, providing Rs 50 per tonne for the 2025-26 season. This assistance is part of a Rs 100 per tonne support agreed upon with sugar factories, which will contribute the remaining Rs 50. Funds will be credited directly to farmers' accounts based on cane supplied. The crushing season involves 81 factories, with 521 lakh metric tonnes processed so far and an expected total of 600 lakh metric tonnes.
