Assam NDA Finalizes Seat-Sharing as Bodoland Gains Electoral Importance

As Assam prepares for its Assembly elections, the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has become a key battleground due to its increased Assembly seats and complex political alliances. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) currently holds all 11 BTR seats through BJP and its Bodo allies, but seat-sharing arrangements were uncertain until recently. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that NDA partners, including the Bodoland People's Front and Asom Gana Parishad, have finalized seat-sharing, pending BJP Central Board approval. Additionally, three former Congress MLAs have joined the BJP, signaling shifting political dynamics ahead of the polls.
