Karnataka Cabinet Approves Bill Against Honour Crimes and New International Stadium

The Karnataka Cabinet approved the 'Eva Nammava Eva Nammava' Bill, aimed at preventing honour crimes and protecting freedom of choice in marriage. The legislation, inspired by 12th-century poet Basaveshwara's teachings, proposes a minimum five-year prison term for offenders. The Cabinet also cleared the Advertisement Policy, 2026, and approved construction of an international stadium at Surya Nagar, Anekal, while deferring the broader sports village project.
