Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda released the tenth edition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP 2026), the country's official compendium of drug standards. This edition incorporates 121 new monographs, bringing the total to 3,340, with strengthened coverage in key therapeutic areas. Nadda highlighted its reflection of scientific advancements and India's growing pharmaceutical leadership, noting its international acceptance and recognition in 19 Global South countries. The release also emphasized progress in India's pharmacovigilance program, with India rising to 8th globally in contributions to the WHO database.
