
Karnataka secured second place among large states in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the Kharif 2024 and Rabi 2024-25 seasons. The Union Agriculture Ministry awarded the state a Certificate of Commendation, recognizing its effective rollout and timely compensation to farmers. Out of 27.04 lakh registered farmers, 11.85 lakh claimed ₹2,094 crore under the scheme, which aims to protect farmers from crop losses due to natural calamities, pests, and diseases.
