The Union home ministry has directed six central armed police forces (CAPFs) to conduct a comprehensive review of their Group A cadre officers. This review, prompted by a Supreme Court order, aims to address stagnation, reduce Indian Police Service (IPS) deputation at senior levels, and ensure CAPF officers receive Organised Group 'A' Services benefits. Proposals are to be submitted within a month, with a goal to progressively reduce IPS deputation within two years.
