Resident doctors in Himachal Pradesh initiated an indefinite strike, severely impacting medical services except for emergencies, following the termination of Dr. Raghav Narula after a physical altercation with a patient. While the government terminated Dr. Narula's services after an inquiry, the Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) deemed the action disproportionate and demanded reinstatement. Following a meeting with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who assured a fresh inquiry, the strike was called off by some, while others vowed to continue until demands were met, causing significant patient inconvenience.
