China has launched large-scale military drills, codenamed "Justice Mission 2025," around Taiwan, involving its army, navy, air force, and rocket forces. Beijing states the exercises are a stern warning against "Taiwan independence" and "external interference," simulating blockade operations and precision strikes on key ports. Taiwan has placed its military on high alert, condemning the drills as "military intimidation" and a threat to regional peace. The exercises, the largest to date by coverage and proximity, have disrupted international air travel, affecting over 100,000 passengers.
