Over 350 cough syrup samples were collected in Madhya Pradesh following a Chhindwara incident, with final reports for 146 samples indicating no Non-Standard Quality (NSQ) products. Delays in testing are attributed to limited lab capacity and manpower shortages, despite efforts to procure modern equipment and recruit new personnel. The priority on cough syrup testing has reportedly impacted the examination of other medicines, with authorities expecting pending reports soon.
