Assam CM Inaugurates PNG and CNG Projects to Expand Clean Energy Access
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma virtually inaugurated several natural gas infrastructure projects, including Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply in Mangaldai and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facilities in Tezpur. These initiatives, implemented by North East Gas Distribution Company Limited, aim to expand cleaner fuel access for households, industries, and vehicles, supporting Assam's energy transition. Sarma also reviewed the state's power sector progress, focusing on capacity, demand, and infrastructure modernization to enhance electricity reliability and affordability.
