
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the 23-km Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro corridor in Pune will launch in two phases, with the first 11 km operational by May and the remaining 12 km by July. The corridor, nearly 94% complete, aims to ease traffic congestion between key IT and city hubs. Fadnavis also outlined plans to expand Pune's metro network to 200 km across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and surrounding areas, including connectivity to the proposed Purandar airport, to improve urban mobility and reduce congestion.
