CAG Report Flags Financial and Project Irregularities in Jharkhand PSUs and Urban Bodies

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on Jharkhand highlights financial irregularities, project delays, and governance issues in state public sector enterprises and urban local bodies. The Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Limited completed only 726 of 1,328 projects, with 112 stalled or dropped due to land and contractor issues. Unused expenditures include a Rs 12 crore college building near a high-tension line. Additionally, utilisation certificates worth Rs 7,592 crore remain pending with urban local bodies, indicating weak fund monitoring and financial dependence on government grants.
