Tripura Government Signs MoU with GNRC to Establish Superspecialty Hospital

Tripura's government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Guwahati Neurological Research Centre (GNRC) to establish a superspecialty hospital on vacant land at Tripura Jute Mills in West Tripura. The state is also enhancing healthcare infrastructure at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital and Agartala Government Medical College, including increasing ICU beds from 156 to 326 based on AIIMS New Delhi's recommendations. Additionally, a medical university is being considered to regulate medical education, aiming to reduce patient referrals by improving local facilities.
