Centre Designates Nathu La and Lipulekh La as Immigration Posts for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
The Indian government has temporarily designated the Nathu La check post in Sikkim and the Lipulekh La check post in Uttarakhand as authorized immigration points for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra starting June 20, 2026. The first group of 44 pilgrims, including support staff, has arrived in Sikkim after completing a four-day acclimatisation and will proceed to Gyangze in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China via the Nathu La Pass. These measures facilitate the pilgrimage with valid travel documents under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
