The Sambhal district administration in Uttar Pradesh has issued notices to 48 individuals for alleged encroachment on cemetery land. This action follows a land measurement exercise conducted near a disputed religious site, the Shahi Jama Masjid-Shri Harihar Mandir area. Complaints had been filed regarding the illegal construction of houses and shops on a portion of the cemetery land.
