West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has inaugurated the Durga Angan project in Newtown, describing it as a historic development for the state. The expansive complex, planned to be the world's largest, will feature a 365-day Durga Puja courtyard, a 54-meter main sanctum with numerous idols, and surrounding temples. The project aims to boost West Bengal's art, culture, and diversity, creating employment opportunities and increasing income for residents. A trust led by the Chief Secretary will oversee its management, with artisans also set to benefit.
