The BJP in Kullu and Manali has accused the Congress-led state government of failing to address inflated water bills, alleging broken promises of relief. District BJP president Amit Sood stated that assurances from the government and local MLA have not been met, leading to financial distress for residents. Households previously paying around Rs 1,000 for three months are now reportedly receiving bills up to Rs 10,000, with institutions facing over Rs 1 lakh. Consumers approaching the Jal Shakti Department were told no official notification for bill reduction has been issued.
