Haryana's Director General of Prisons, R.C. Roy, stated that measures including transferring over 50 gangster inmates and enhanced surveillance have successfully controlled criminal activities within jails. He highlighted the effectiveness of the Prison Inmate Calling System (PICS) in preventing ransom demands and mobile-based threats. Roy also inspected an open-air jail concept where inmates live with families and engage in employment, alongside ITI courses in cosmetology and dressmaking.
