
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed West Bengal police to identify sensitive areas ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, aiming for completion by mid-March. A total of 480 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies will be deployed in two phases—240 on March 1 and 240 on March 10—with deployment supervised by central observers. Concurrently, the Supreme Court clarified that physical submission of electoral documents by the February 14 deadline must be accepted despite delays in online uploads, addressing concerns over incomplete digitization in the state.
