Election Commission Announces Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls on April 23, 2026

The Election Commission of India has scheduled the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections for April 23, 2026, with vote counting on May 4. All 234 constituencies will vote in a single phase. The current DMK-led government, which won a majority in 2021, seeks re-election amid a competitive political environment including AIADMK, BJP, and actor Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
