Case Registered Against Mutya Sparks Protest and Official Responses in Yadgir

Mallikarjun Mutya, head of Mahal Roja Mutt in Yadgir district, faces a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case after a video showing alleged inappropriate behaviour with a minor circulated on social media. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights initiated the case following an inquiry. Supporters, including the Koli-Kabbaliga Horata Samiti, protested demanding withdrawal, claiming the video was misrepresented and the seer shares a father-like bond with the girl. The Minister for Small Scale Industries stated the case was registered hastily and found no improper conduct in the video.
