India Highlights Indian Ocean Recovery, Maritime Safety, and Strategic Focus at Raisina Dialogue

At the Raisina Dialogue 2026, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized the Indian Ocean Region's ongoing recovery and the need for enhanced diplomatic cooperation, trade restoration, and connectivity. He highlighted the importance of merchant ship safety, noting Indian nationals' significant presence in global shipping and recent maritime tensions in West Asia. Jaishankar also detailed India's humanitarian response by allowing an Iranian naval vessel to dock in Kochi after technical issues. Additionally, experts stressed strengthening India's maritime consciousness and strategic focus to secure its Indo-Pacific interests.
