For the first time, the Indian Army's Remount and Veterinary Corps will showcase an animal contingent at the 2026 Republic Day Parade. The contingent will feature Bactrian camels, Zanskar ponies, raptors, and Army dogs, highlighting their crucial roles in challenging terrains and the Army's self-reliance. These animals, adapted to extreme conditions, provide vital logistical support and patrolling capabilities along sensitive frontiers.
