The Supreme Court of India is hearing petitions by Trinamool Congress leaders challenging procedural irregularities in West Bengal's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which has led to the deletion of over 58 lakh names and flagged discrepancies such as parent name mismatches and unusual age gaps. The court directed the Election Commission to publicly display the names of 1.25 crore voters on the 'logical discrepancies' list at local offices and allow affected individuals to submit documents or objections. It also ordered the state government to provide adequate staff and the police to maintain law and order during the process.
