Israel will reopen the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt on March 18 for limited movement of people, after closing it at the start of the war with Iran. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) stated the crossing will operate under strict security restrictions in both directions. Previously, the crossing had briefly reopened in early February for urgent medical cases. The Kerem Shalom crossing has already reopened for humanitarian aid, but Rafah remained closed until this announcement.
