
India and Bhutan held a secretary-level bilateral meeting from February 24 to 27 to discuss cooperation on trans-boundary rivers and hydropower projects. The discussions reviewed existing flood management and forecasting mechanisms, and focused on enhancing hydro-meteorological observation networks, data-sharing, capacity building, and addressing climate change challenges including glacial lake outburst floods. The Indian delegation also visited the Punatsangchhu-I and Punatsangchhu-II hydroelectric projects in Bhutan, reflecting ongoing bilateral collaboration in water resource management.
