Kerala's government has decided that all new state-owned educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will no longer have religion-based names. This policy, approved at a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, aims to uphold secularism and constitutional values of equality and inclusiveness. The decision applies only to future institutions and does not affect existing ones. The Cabinet also approved the Justice J B Koshy Commission report on Christian minorities' welfare for official publication.
