
Around 200 para-teachers in West Bengal protested outside the state education department demanding a pay hike from Rs 9,000-10,000 to Rs 15,000-20,000, along with provident fund, gratuity benefits, and relief from election duties. This marked their third protest in two weeks. Simultaneously, about 500 ASHA workers, affiliated with a Communist union, clashed with police while demanding a raise from under Rs 4,500 to Rs 15,000 monthly and protested delayed salaries for three months.
