
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Rs 227 crore redeveloped Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, in Assam's Nagaon district. The project, also attended by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other Union ministers, aims to boost tourism and preserve Assam's cultural heritage by showcasing the life and artistic legacy of the Vaishnavite saint. The redevelopment was proposed in the 2021-22 state budget and is intended to make the site a major cultural and spiritual destination.
