Sukhbir Badal Protests Police Probe, Offers Arrest Over Missing 'Saroops' Case

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal, accompanied by party leaders, protested at Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav's office against investigations linked to the disappearance of 328 'saroops' of the Guru Granth Sahib. Badal accused the Punjab Police and the AAP government of misusing police powers to harass his accountants and associates unrelated to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). He offered himself for arrest, demanding an FIR be registered directly against him if wrongdoing is alleged. SAD workers staged a sit-in outside the police headquarters amid heightened political tensions in Punjab.
