A former corporator, Bhanusing Rawat, has accused ex-Chief Minister Ashok Chavan of accepting Rs 50 lakh to grant election tickets for the upcoming Maharashtra civic polls. Rawat, a long-time associate, claims loyal party workers were sidelined for moneyed candidates. Chavan, a BJP leader, has vehemently rejected the allegations, stating he has never sought money for tickets during his 50-year career. The elections for 29 municipal corporations are scheduled for January 15.
