Rajya Sabha MP Haris Beeran urged the Central government to enact legislation on end-of-life care for terminally ill patients, highlighting Parliament's inaction despite multiple Law Commission reports since 2006 and Supreme Court directives over two decades. Beeran also emphasized the need for mandated palliative care infrastructure and noted the financial burden on families, with over 65% of healthcare costs paid out of pocket.
