UP CM Directs Plan to Upgrade Infrastructure of Anganwadi Centres Statewide

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the preparation of a comprehensive plan to ensure all Anganwadi centres, which serve children aged 3 to 6 and provide pre-primary education, operate from their own buildings. Currently, about 76,000 of over 1.89 lakh centres lack dedicated infrastructure. The plan includes child-friendly designs with modern amenities such as drinking water, toilets, play areas, and facilities for pregnant women. Construction support through CSR and prefabricated models is being considered, with some centres to be integrated within primary school premises for combined education, nutrition, and health services.
