Kerala will launch its first 'work near home' (WNH) project on January 19, inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kottarakkara. The initiative, developed with Technopark and Cyberpark, aims to create five lakh rural employment opportunities, especially for educated youth and homemakers. The WNH centre offers modern workstations in a refurbished BSNL building, with plans to expand to other rural areas. The project is supported by an interest-free loan to provide affordable, high-standard facilities, and has attracted firms like Zoho Corporation.
