
Rashmi Shukla, Maharashtra's first woman Director General of Police (DGP), retired on Saturday after 37.5 years of service. She received a ceremonial guard of honour at her farewell. Shukla, a 1988-batch IPS officer, expressed nostalgia and pride in her service, highlighting stable law and order during her tenure. Her career included leadership roles such as Director General of SSB and heading the Maharashtra Police. Senior IPS officer Sadanand Date has been appointed as the new DGP.
