Punjab Police plans to significantly expand its anti-drone capabilities, seeking ₹175 crore from the Centre for 17 additional systems. The state currently operates three systems and aims to procure more in phases. This initiative follows the neutralization of approximately 270 drones this year, with the Border Security Force (BSF) playing a key role in intercepts. The police are also developing software for organized crime and upgrading emergency response systems as part of a broader technology-driven vision.
